Assisted Suicide, or Assisted Murder? When diagnosed with a terminal illness, is Euthanasia the way to go? Assisted Suicide has been around since the Greek and Roman empires. Even in those days some supported it and others didn’t. Today, the nation is split on whether or not it should be legal. Society must stop legalizing Assisted Suicide. Putting lethal drugs in our bodies to die painlessly is inhumane. Humane, is characterized by “tenderness, compassion, and sympathy for people and animals, especially for the suffering or distressed” (Dictionary.com 2016). Assisted suicide is an unnatural procedure which the terminally ill are treated with . The terminally ill should be cared for, not killed off. An unexpected side effect legalizing assisted suicide is that, ultimately, killing of the sick lowers the quality of medication and help all Americans get when they are treated. Even though doctors say how much longer those suffering with terminal illness will live, these estimates are not necessarily true. There is always a 50% chance that the patient will live longer than the doctors say.
