In 2012, Colorado alone made 53 million dollars after the legalization of Marijuana. They gave the money to programs for schools. Why don’t other states make this type of money? Marijuana in today’s society is mainly consumed by teens and some adults. Marijuana has been impacting lives of humans in a lively matter. Even though it is an illegal drug , countless amounts of people do not stop from getting a hold of it.
Marijuana harms our economy in many situations. Although the legal issues with investing in a federally banned drug is quite obvious, that's just the beginning. There are serious financial concerns in the future on these marijuana companies. In the United State marijuana is the 4th valued crop. The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime claims that in 2008 the typical U.S. retail prices are 10-15 dollars per gram. Marijuana can help the economy by being sold because it brings in profit for most sellers and it goes to good causes. One program it goes to is called BEST, this program awards grants to local school districts to build and improve school facilities.
