Organized crime has been as issue in the United States for decades. One cause of organized crime in particular is marijuana. Marijuana is an illegal drug in majority of the country, is often sold illegally and competitively bringing fourth issues with the justice system and citizens. Marijuana is more beneficial than it is harmful and from legalizing this plant, several things will change. If marijuana is legalized, then will cut back on the crime rate, and the incarceration rate. It would be able to be used to treat certain things. It would also cut down on the budget to fund drug busts and use our tax payer for something that actually matter. If you were to legalize marijuana it would reduce the crime rate in the United States. Selling marijuana is sometimes very competitive. Most marijuana sellers, try to out due one another on the income they bring in off the sale of marijuana. If one feels that the other is making too much money, they would either rob them or kill them. If that case was brought to court they would close it and call it bad drug deal gone wrong. CBS News, stated that, “It found strong evidence, for example, that marijuana can treat chronic pain in adults and that similar compounds ease nausea from chemotherapy, with varying degrees of evidence for treating muscle stiffness and spasms in multiple sclerosis”. Basically marijuana would be treated as muscle relaxer. CBS News, also stated, “For pregnant women who smoke pot, there’s strong evidence of reduced birth weight but only weak evidence of any effect on pregnancy complications for the mother, or an infant’s need for admission to intensive care.” Marijuana could be a break through and help those who’s sick or reduce birth
