Marijuana! : A plant that is also known by its scientific term, Cannabis. This plant grows well in many places such as Mexico, Jamaica, and even America, although its production is illegal in the U.S. This plant has often been a tough subject amongst the American people. Cannabis has been illegal at the federal level, but recently several states have either legalized or decriminalized it as a drug substance. However, there are still many states in which it remains illegal. Today it is asked, should marijuana be legalized for medicinal purposes? There are many reasons why people would use marijuana as a source of medication, such as the purposes of helping cope with pain; Glaucoma; Malaria; and many other illnesses. Marijuana was used for the following medical issues: Rheumatism, Malaria, and Absent-mindedness. Today it is still used for these purposes in addition to other medical issues such as Multiple Sclerosis, Glaucoma, Depression, Arthritis, Anxiety, Hepatitis C, Epilepsy, and Alzheimer’s disease. It has even been known as the partial cure/treatment to cancer. Marijuana also reduces nausea and vomiting and increases appetite. Legalizing cannabis would allow people to begin their healing process. Also, to prevent any lung problems from smoking cannabis, there are different ways to intake it such as eating it, vaporizing it, and liquidizing it. These days, patients are now turning to the underground drug market to purchase this marijuana. Patients should not have to buy this drug illegally just to get the treatment that the drug provides for them. Marijuana is a big money maker in the drug world and it can be dangerous for patients to try and buy this drug in the underground market because people who grow and sale it usually tend to add extra chemicals to it such as pesticides and other impurities.
