Marijuana: it’s one the biggest debates in the media with whether or not it should be legalized or not. If there was only one thing I can change in the world, it more than likely would be marijuana legalization, and I have reasons to back it up using examples from how we would all benefit from it, or how it can without a doubt save lives. and in my own opinion, it is very wrong because these drugs can cause death and mental problems. Marijuana causes happiness and hunger, what’s so wrong about that? It can also be used to cure people with Glaucoma, which increases pressure in the eyeball, damaging the optic nerve and causing loss of vision. Also, a very important one, CBD, a chemical in marijuana can help cancer from spreading throughout the body. Cannabidiol (CBD) can stop cancer by turning off a gene called Id-1. Many elderly people suffer from alzheimer's disease and one main ingredient; THC, the active chemical in marijuana actually slows the formation of amyloid plaques, these plaques are what kill brain cells and cause alzheimer’s. Marijuana can even help war veterans with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). The THC can help regulate the system in the brain that causes fear and anxiety. Many people wonder why marijuana is still illegal in 41 states and its because people throw it into the same category as the hard drugs when marijuana is much safer than alcohol.
