Legalization: The Ultimate Solution Looking at the perspective of the American war on drugs, Marijuana is one of the hottest and the most debated topic. Legalization of Marijuana is a local problem that has been going on for years. There is a group that supports the decision of legalization and a group that wants the drug to be prohibited. Who is going to decide? The state, the government or the citizens? This debate over the legalization of Marijuana is one of the most discussed and recent topic in all American communities. The more a substance is regulated and the more laws that are enforced, the more drug abuse will be committed. A generation has arisen where all that individuals care about is acquiring what each of them wants. The more agents try to keep the drug prohibited, the more crimes and trespassing occurs with the drug. In this changing world, rules and laws does not stop an individual anymore. The desires and want of an individual is more important in consideration than how it affects the society. There’s no certain evidence to prove that the prohibition of drug actually keeps it safe and makes the society safe from drug addiction. Teenagers that develop the tendency to attain the drug somehow will lead them into engaging in illegal activities. All the illegal activities and growing rate of crime related to drug abuse is evidence that shows prohibition is a complete failure, and that it does not help regulate the drug from getting used negatively. Educating the younger generation about the drug use seems like a more mature and valid way to regulate the drug use than prohibiting it. Knowledge is power: learning from the elderly and knowing the consequences should be the right way. Putting a ban on certain things, especially substances that the younger generation crave the most for, is not a wise
