According to US.news, in 2012, every forty-two seconds,the FBI arrested one United States residents for (majority) possessed marijuana. In contrast, more than fifty-two percent of American adults publicly support the legalization of marijuana. Therefore, in this case, should the government legalized marijuana or should keep it illegal as usual?
Marijuana, also known as cannabis or pot, was found in Asia around 500 BC. Marijuana used to be use as a medical herbal medicine. Later, in the 20th century, due to political and racial factor, marijuana became illegal. On 2001 and 2010, according to ACLU, there are 8.2 million marijuana arrests with 88 percent of them are only using marijuana. Lots of people mistakenly believe in the “marijuana is not addictive” myth. However, the development of problems use in marijuana, known as marijuana use disorder, are also associated with dependence of the drug. The users will have withdrawal syndrome if they do not use the drug.
