Many governments have the topic of legalizing marijuana. Should we or should we not? Many states across the United States have legalized medical or recreational marijuana for many of its residence. Residence in states that sell legal marijuana have strict guidelines everybody must follow or they could be fine or/and prosecuted. Marijuana, either if it’s medical or recreational, it is still an illegal drug in the eyes of the Federal government. For example, people in California that use medical marijuana can still be prosecuted by the federal government. Both medical marijuana and recreational marijuana should be legalized across the entire United States and on a Federal standard too for many reasons. There are many beneficial factors of smoking marijuana. One of them being that patients with cancer or another type of savage diseases that makes it difficult to do everyday task should be able to access marijuana. For example, a cancer patient after a round of chemotherapy, a person’s body is using all of its energy to fight the cancer. Most patients become nauseous and can not eat after therapy. Many people believe that marijuana is a “gateway” drug. People that enjoy the euphoric high possible could be ‘chasing’ the first high, and people could turn to much more devastating drugs such as cocaine, methamphetamine, heroin and other drugs. In addition to this, people who do not turn the hardcore drugs, could possibly become addicted to marijuana. With people smoking marijuana like cigarettes, those people have a higher chance of lung cancer, low blood pressure, and diabetes. While smoking marijuana, people inhale deeper into their lungs to get a more intense euphoric high.
