LGBT Adoption
Adoption has been a huge concern for many years, but only recently the LGBT adoption has been taken seriously. There is an obvious overabundance of orphaned children without a secure home and a loving family. In the last few years the world began to open the door for LBGT adoption. Although there are some laws that approved the option, most of the states in the U.S remain in silence. These are the reasons why LGBT Adoption should be allowed.
First of all, it is a matter of human rights. Every human being should have the same rights with no exceptions. It is terrible how the fight for equally is still an issue after all these decades. The conditions on where the children will be living are the priority. It is very important to find the right parent for these children because although there is an overabundance of orphan, they cannot be adopted by the wrong type of people. It is well-known that a lot of people decide to adopt just to get the money the government supplies in these cases. Also, there are a lot of people with good intentions but no resources. If society welcomes the LBGT adoption more doors will be open for those children. The children sexual orientation development has also raised a lot of speculation due to the example these parents will be giving. There is no conclusive evidence that an adopted child living with same sex parent will turn out to be gay (Peggy Drexler). The true is that this speculation is just that, speculation. The American Psychological Association also states "Research suggests that sexual identities (including gender identity, gender-role behavior, and sexual orientation) develop in much the same ways among children of lesbian mothers as they do among children of heterosexual parents". Children raised by LBGT parents develop the same way as children raised by heterosexual parents. The joy that comes from starting a family after living on such bad conditions is indescribable.
