Each year, thousands of people make the decision to expand their families by adopting children all over the world. There are various factors that contribute to making this decision. There are some couples that consider adoption because they are unable to reproduce, or they do not want to face any complications that may arise from a pregnancy. An increasing number of people have been choosing to adopt because as homosexual couples, they are unable to conceive and therefore, resort to adoption. Others want to help children because they recognize that there are many children in need of healthy home environments. For many years, U.S citizens have given permanent homes to children from different countries. Adoption laws across different countries vary, and many countries aim to diminish the restrictions that keep American citizens from adopting children from their country.
