Children being raised in an orphanage may not grow to have a bond with a parent or parents and usually be obligated to share a home with several other orphans that vary in age. Social and behavioral issues are more common in orphaned children since they do not experience the normal family life. Adoption is a beneficial option for the children of the orphanage and for the family that wants to add a new family member. Many people argue on the topic international adoption as they have different viewpoints on how and where the children should be raised. The supporters of international adoption have many reasons of why they support the subject. Supporters think that it should not matter where the adopted children come from or where they are going to live as long as they have a family to call their own. Supporters also argue that if children are required to get adopted within their own country they are most likely not going to be adopted. China alone has a one-child policy that leads to hundreds of thousands of children in need of homes. People in China that already have a kid cannot adopt an orphan from their own country, so a great number of those children from China will be orphans for the rest of their life if they have to wait on someone from their own country to adopt them. Supporters say that children in foreign countries that are adopted out of their own culture get a sense of different environment that half of the adults in the world do not acquire the chance to experience in their lifetime. Supporters worry that children left un-adopted can suffer from behavioral and social problems that will affect them in their everyday lives. Opponents also argue that children that are taken out of their own culture and put into a new one will not grow up to know their own culture. Some opponents think that it does not accurately help poor children or the country they are from. Also, the money people spend to adopt a child in a foreign country could be used to help more than just one orphan in their own country. Adopting outside of the United States can lead to more diseases being brought into the country of children that have been exposed to those diseases in their previous country. Compromise is a must when it comes to discussing the topic of international adoption. Adoptive parents should always have a background check performed before they are even considered for the adoption process. Also, adoptive parents should have their homes inspected before and after they are allowed to bring an adopted child into their home. After the parents adopt the child, social workers should come and inspect the home every week to every few weeks, eventually leading to every month for a certain period of time. Mandatory drug testing should be performed on the adoptive parents for the rest of the time the child is living there. It should be required that every state has a social group of every race from the countries that the United States allows to adopt from. The adoptive parents should be
