Texting while driving has become prevalent in recent years due in part to the widespread availability of technology around the world. While people may be under the impression that texting is acceptable behind the steering wheel, further investigation reveals the behavior is undeniably dangerous. Moreover, the action could tragically result in lost life due to the fact that preoccupied drivers are diverting their attention away from the events occurring simultaneously on the highway. Although automobile drivers may assume the dangers of texting while driving are merely contrived, contradictory evidence reveals the technological convenience is simply not worth sacrificing safety and ignoring state regulations.
The texting while driving phenomena is a detrimental trend substantially escalated through the promotion of technology and the public’s desire for convenience. The texting driver may also suffer substantially magnified penalties resulting from damages linked to minor bodily injury or the unjustifiable loss of life.
