The Democratic party has a very liberal and progressive view on Illegal Immigration. Ever since Abraham Lincoln abolished slavery in 1865, the Democratic party has moved towards a more progressive path. They are interested in “brotherhood” and unity of the people. The Democratic party believes that the government should give residency to people who are willing to contribute to society and serve their country. Which is why they would fully enact The Dream Act. Which is a way for immigrants to fully become legalized and be able to strive in this country. The laws of today don’t reflect the values of the party, they want to reform to benefit the ones that struggle for freedom, whether its from their own country or in the states itself.
