Alcohol abuse is a serious problem in the United States and many other places as well. Alcohol can make some people extremely violent and turns them into a whole different person. The main problem is the under-age drinking in our country. “Nationally, 65 percent of college students told researchers they recently had consumed alcohol, and 44 percent said they had gotten drunk” (Price). This shows that many kids are abusing alcohol and alcohol does not have many to any benefits. It tends to be the college athletes that obsessively drink and party. A college athlete got drunk one night and kicked down his ex-girlfriends down, beat her, and left her to die. Fighting tends to be a reoccuring theme when people get too drunk, and it's not okay. Underage drinking is a serious problem that needs a cure. From 1997 to 2008, alcohol affordability increased by 25 percent and the amount of underage drinking went down nearly 17 percent. This shows that raising prices may not be the right solution to stop underage drinking. Also, it would be unfair to increase prices to those who legally can drink becuase of underagers. Thousands of teens are driving drunk, and binge drinking. There is a serious alcohol problem in the United States, but its been this bad forever so what can change. If someone wants something bad enough they will go out of their way to get it, and teens want
