Underage Drinking While looking through topics to write this paper on i stumbled upon this one that affects society today. Should people under the age of 21 be able to drink alcohol with parental supervision? This is a widely controversial subject and has some good points behind it. Many may reject the idea and think it would cause an early addiction to alcohol in teens while others say that it can help teach teens how to respect alcohol. As previously stated, some parents may reject or accept this idea. If the parents support the idea then they will most likely not expose their children to alcohol in public but in the safety of their own homes (Sheknows.com). On another hand there are 45 of the states that allow underage drinking only under certain circumstances, for example, for religious purposes and medical purposes (drinkingage.Procon.org). Out of the 50 states 17 of hem allow drinking with spousal consent if the spouse is over the age of 21 (drinkingage.Pocn.org). Now there are many teens that have drank alcohol before, to be specific 40% of teens have said they have had “some” alcohol in the past month (Mercurynews.com). It's not uncommon for teens to be drinking but i believe that it should be under parental supervision. In most of europe there isn't a lot of teens drinking behind their parents backs because over 70 % of countries have set the legal drinking age to 18-19 (Merurynews.com). When it comes to teens and underage drinking there isn't any real way to stop it so i thik that it is better for parents to teach their children how to respect alcohol to prevent any damage to the child's
