We shouldn’t have year-round schooling because it takes away from students learning and life patterns. With year-round schooling students and teens will find it hard to find a job. Jobs hiring will be less willing to hire teens if the students can only work a couple days a month then will not be able to work for a month and a half. With year-round schooling, most schools will be set on a multi-track schedule. This means that they will be split up into 4 groups A B C D. While A and B are going to school, C and D are on break for 15 days. When A and B are on break, C and D will be in school for 45 days. Despite the current interest in year-round schools, there have been no definitive studies done that show how year-round education affects student achievement. In fact, it has been shown before that traditional schools held higher scores then year-round schools. Both school types held a 94 percent to a 97 percent attendance percentage (Dr. Kenneth Stevenson, 2010). This means that either way, year-round schooling is not keeping kids off the streets any better than that of a traditional school. Sports, band and other extracurricular activities may become much more difficult. If you were to play sports in a year-round school you would have to give up some of your vacation time to go to practice and games. Parents with students of different ages might find it hard to plan vacations if there kids are in different schools on different schedules. This also ties into sports when the students are on break they might be required to go to practice or games which cuts their free time in
