Did you know that an estimated 170 kilograms of Canadian consumers food, ends up in the trash each year?³ In fact, Canada is considered one of the worst countries globally contributing to food waste.³ Not only is this food waste money thrown in the garbage but is food that could have been donated to developing countries. Aside from the billions of people our waste could have fed, billions of pounds of food heads to the landfill each year contributing to many environmental problems.
