Zoos have always been something that families love and kids look forward to going to. Kids learn about the animals and the habitats and enjoy the entertainment. It is a great experience for people, but not for the animals. Zoos are downright cruel to Animals. Animals our forced to live in an unreal stressful, and boring conditions.
“The animals of this world exist for their own reasons. They were not made for humans any more than black people were made for whites” - Alice Walker. Some of the animals that you see in zoos are not always born in captivity. They can be taken right out of the wild as well. Although zoos are fun to visit, animals should not be held in captivity because the breed can become overpopulated, they do not know how to survive on their own, and they are being abused.
Zoos Should Be Banned Imagine you are five years old, someone breaks into your home, kills your aunt and possibly your older brother in the process of kidnapping you. You are separated from your loved ones, leaving your mother in severe pain and grief. You are taken somewhere unknown, imprisoned in a cell where people come watch you for their own entertainment.
Zoos are found everywhere you go in the world. Some are big and popular, while others are something as simple as a rescue and rehabilitation center. Every child loves going to the zoo at some point in their childhood years. As you get older, you begin to form an opinion on what you think about the overall ideas of a zoo. Some adults love it still as they grow older.
Recent history of state legislative action promoted several state senators and representatives to sponsor new legislation, called the Aware Act, to extended coverage to animals, including farm animals. Representative Mike Fitzpatrick, a Pennsylvania Republican, sponsored the bill in the House, along with Earl Blumenauer, an Oregon Democrat, and various Senator sponsors including Cory Booker, a New Jersey Democrat. The bill intends to extend Federal AWA to cover cows, pigs, sheep’s, and other utilized for agricultural research at federal facilities, including the United States Meat Animal Research Center in Nebraska. This argument is split into three main viewpoints, the opinion that zoos harm animals, the opinion that zoos save endangered species, and a mix between the two. Viewpoint number three is more of a critique how zoos are good places where bad things happen and should be reformed. Each option has its own individual pros and cons but a reform of zoos and their standards would be the most economical for zoos and aquariums and this method would also be the least harmful and less stressful for the animals involved. The care and wellbeing of the animals involved should be the number one priority of all groups and by cutting back on over breeding, the phasing out of lager animals that naturally roam large distances, and creating environments that’s sole purpose is to educate people, zoos can become a better place for people and animals
Hi, do you think there shouldn’t be zoos in the world? If so, here is are some reasons why there should be Zoos. I believe there should be zoos in the world because of many reasons like, we can learn from animals that we haven’t learn before, and help endangered species from extinction. One reason why we can learn from zoos is because we can learn more about animals from far away like a lion in africa in a zoo in Los angeles. Another reason why we can learn in Zoos is because we can discover new animals that scientist studied in the world that we never knew about.
But that is not the actual purpose of the zoo and it is rare to see those types of zoos. All in all, with the continuing global threats to the atmosphere it is hard for individuals to visualize zoos as something apart from being essential to the long-term survival of various species. Not just in terms of protecting them and breeding them for reintroduction, but to learn regarding them to assist those still within the wild, as well as to educate and inform the general public about these animals and their world: to pique their interest so they will assist or at least accept the necessity to be more environmentally aware. Sure there are many possibilities for improvement, but these benefits are essential to several species and potentially at least. Without zoos, the world would be a much poorer place.
Zoos should not be allowed and shut down because they are internment camps for animals and here are some reasons why. First, zoos cannot provide sufficient space. Zoos don’t have the space that animals would have in the wild. Tigers and Lions have around 18,000 times less space in zoos than they would in the wild. It also causes them to change their habits because in the wild hunting in the wild was a necessity to survive, zoos lack that feature.
“If people never got to see an animal, they would not have that senses of awe and wonder and not be inspired to take action to conserve the wild in our world”, said my father. The Zoo’s sore beneficial for the animals, but why? Because the workers or specialist with animals, they help to endeared species for procreate species and protect them. However, in some zoos they are mistreat by workers, they can go crazes in some moments because the visitors are petering animals and others things.
Animal rights have been under intense debate on public domain since the 1970s, thanks to the awareness generated by several NGOs (Non- Government Organizations) like PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals). According to one school of thought zoos should be banned as they violate animal’s right and should be in their natural habitats. But per other school of thought zoos should not be banned, but the animal should have freedom within zoos. Every major city has a zoo which has several species of animals.
People say that zoos are important for education and are a great way for people to learn about exotic animals (Agnew n.p). Researchers cannot learn as much when animals are captive, you can learn just as much or even more while they are in their natural habitat. While some believe that zoos are important for education, they also believe that zoos are necessary for the survival of species (Zoos n.p). Most zoos claim that they take in extinct and needy animals, most animals at zoos aren’t orphaned, extinct, or injured at all (Zoos n.p). Lastly, one big claim is that zoos help conservation of animals (Borrel n.p).
Imagine you are taken from your home, mother, and environment to a small cage where everybody is looking at you, taking pictures, and having fun. Your owners sell you to a bad zoo where all animals only get food sometimes and the bare cages are cold because you’re getting too expensive to feed and even take care of. This is why I take the position that zoos should be banned because they can cause Animal cruelty, Too expensive, and finding new homes. Say no to zoos!
Zoos are an unsuitable environment for wild animals and should be abolished. A zoo cannot provide the perfect environment for every type of animal. Also, one of the biggest reasons zoos exist is not for helping animals in danger, but in fact breeding them for human enjoyment. Starting thousands of years ago, zoos attracted large crowds around the world. Because of that, everyone today has seen, been to, or heard of a zoo at least once in their lifetime.
