It was a dark, quiet, June night and Mike, 15 years old, was walking tiredly home from a party at his friend’s house. It was around 12 in the morning and he had a long day. From school to soccer practice, to a party, he felt like his eyes were about to close shut. His house was only two blocks away, but his mind was somewhere far beyond that. Mike looked out into the empty street and started to cross towards the other side. The only source of light was a tall street lamp far to his right. Stress levels are through the roof. Moms and Dads have to care for their children, work all day, and come home to clean the house. It is no surprise that parents are stressed out. When a mom or dad has no indication of where their child is late at night the stress builds up. This can put them at risk of many illnesses. The American Psychological Association states, “Stress levels are high, with 42 percent of adults indicating their stress worsened in the past year. A total of 24 percent said they had an extreme level of stress (8, 9 or 10 on a 10-point scale) over the past month, and 51 percent report moderate stress levels.” They also say, “Among parents of 8- to 17-year-olds, mothers reported higher levels of stress than fathers. On a scale of 1 to 10 , 15 percent of moms rated their stress as a 10.” When a child is at the state of being a minor, parents stress levels begin to increase. When children get older they tend to go out and pursue illegal or inappropriate actions. Such as, drinking, stealing, or even sneaking out of the house. When minors are out with their friends or alone late at night, parents start to stress. To prevent this from happening, we can have them home at a certain time, averting them from doing anything against the
