Thesis: Do you own a gun? If you said no, you’re with most other Americans, only a staggering three percent of Americans own half of the civilian guns in the United States. Despite that statistic, the US tops the list of countries with the most guns, owning about half of the world’s guns, while only making up a meager fiver percent of the earth’s population.
I. I do not agree with the newly suggested gun control laws. I believe there should certainly be more of a challenge to own a gun in the United States.
a. Guns have the power to destroy, which we recently saw in Las Vegas, at a country concert, where no one was expecting any harm to come to them.
b. Only a small percent of Americans owns the guns that the US has, but if the guns get into the wrong hands within that three percent, horrible things could happen.

The US needs to have a more strict and thorough process for any citizen to acquire a weapon that yields a lot of responsibility for the owner.

II. Guns don’t kill people, people do
a. As cliché as that phrase is, we have all heard it, and quite frankly I believe it’s the truth. Yes, the gun is the final blow, but the person owning the gun chooses to do that. Not the guns.
b. People see guns and are afraid now. But who could blame them with all of the evil in the world? Guns are used to protect, sometimes for sport, and war. Some people feel safer having a concealed carry permit on them, and feel as if they can protect others while carrying a weapon.
c. I feel as if people should not be blaming of the guns and the NRA, as they are with blaming the person who shot the gun.

III. Gun control is achievable, and sure, we can take all the guns from every citizen in the US. Do you think they can take every gun that's out there in the public, and stop them from acquiring more after theirs were
