Before the burns and bruises, before the drug addiction, the unwanted pregnancy and the punches to her belly and the testimony she gave despite fear of retribution from a man she called “Daddy” before all that there was a young girl who was promised a successful modeling career in the land of opportunities most of us call America. This young girl named Nina had her life planned out with goals, ambitions and a bright future until she foolishly believed a man could get her into the modeling industry with nothing to owe in return.. My fellow classmates I would like to persuasive you to realize there is power in your actions. I hope you can realize just as I have that human trafficking is real and that we alone have the power to make a difference with a few small and simple actions. Sure you might say it’s not that big of a deal since it doesn’t occur in my city or neighborhood I live in but I would like you to take a moment and paint a vivid picture for yourself whether it’s you or a loved one that is being constantly rapped on the daily, harshly beaten or burned if you have disobeyed your owner or you’re working against your will would it be a big deal to you then? Statistics show that “Human trafficking is the third largest international crime industry (behind illegal drugs and arms trafficking). It reportedly generates a profit of $32 billion every year stated by the (CNN Freedom Project). Every country is affected by human trafficking whether they are a country where the people are being trafficked from or whether they are the country where the people are being trafficked to. It is here where we put aside any political stance, any religious belief or any nationality because this today is about humanity, and I believe that absolutely no human desires
