Mathematics has a huge impact and effect on the medications that people use every day. Furthermore, it is an outstanding at helping during calculations. Some examples of calculations of medicine would be: the volume of the saline solution required by the patient and the doses of drugs administration per person (Carroll 1993). Pharmacists use mathematics when they administer medication and prescriptions (Carroll 1993). The subject of math is used in medicine to measure the amount of doses that are given to the average person as well as enhancing those dosages into the medicine cups (Carroll 1993). Most medications have recommendations for the dosage amounts in milligrams (mg) per kilogram (kg) (Carroll 1993). Pharmacists need to figure out exactly how many milligrams of medication each patient will endure, depending on their average weight. The amount of the intake of medication does indeed have an effect on the weight of the person, who is in taking the medication. For example, if a patient needs to take their medication, one pill, three times a day. Pharmacists must be able to do these calculations in their head with speed and also accuracy in order to speed up the medication process for the patient (Carroll 1993).
