The society of the 21st century demands that the younger generations excel in their academics. Authority figures display the idea that you have to accomplish greater goals than the person next to you. Society tells children that in order to be happy they must achieve the "American Dream" and that wealth guarantees power. Even teachers are pressured to follow the ideals of society. Because of the way I have been raised, I believe that in order to achieve greatness you must live a life of humility. If you are blessed with more, you should give to those that are less fortunate than you. Knowledge is gained through receiving the ideas that a figure of authority imposes on you. The individual is given the job of deciding what ideas they will follow. These choices will create the beliefs that the individual will hold on to. The idea that my students will be encouraged to believe is that, the root and focus of society should be community, but instead the root of society is competition. Competition can encourage students to work hard, but it can also make a student feel like they will never succeed. Teamwork will be a part of the curriculum in order to prepare students for team projects in the workplace. Students should be encouraged to excel and do their absolute best, but students should not be allowed to believe that they are failures. This new technology has become such a huge part of society that it is being integrated into schools. While technology is a wonderful thing, it has caused kids to stop socializing with their friends and families. The ability to socialize is an important factor in society, this is because as humans we were meant to interact and communicate with each other. The business world is no exception to this main factor of human life, it requires people to communicate with each other in order to achieve success. The students that I have the opportunity to teach will be taught how to communicate verbally with each other respectfully through teamwork. Group projects will be used to assess their communication skills and the way they work with each other. The group projects will be designed to challenge them and the groups will be made up of people that the student may not normally hang out with. This will challenge a student to be social and communicate with people that they might not enjoy being around. Students that are challenged will gain the social skills of teamwork and communication. All that is left is the attitude which they approach these challenges
