For my Capstone Project, I chose the career as physician assistant. I worked hard throughout the year to make sure I make a good grade on the Capstone Project. I job shadowed at D.D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center in the pain management unit. I spent most of the time observing my mentor while she performed check-ups on her patients. Also, I saw my mentor give injections to patients to help with pain.
I’m interested in transferring to VCU because of your medical program. In the Spring of 2014 my boyfriend was in a motorcycle accident and spent two weeks at VCU Medical Center. The care he received there was the best. Not only do the care for the patient, they care for the family too. I remember breaking down and crying in the Gateway Building.
To form well-equipped Medical Office Assistants who will be trained throughout the program in becoming knowledgeable on core medical competencies and develop a professional character, including effective intrapersonal and interpersonal skills. Certified Medical Office Assistants will be competent to efficiently serve a vital role in the healthcare field, performing different tasks and working in conjunction with health care providers, they will truly be able to say that patients receive better care, and have better lives, because of them.
During this process it will be prudent to emphasize the important role continued professional development will play in the future of pain management. The revamping of standards is in line with other professions who are mandating increased performance evaluation of their health care professionals. In addressing the new standards for recertification of physician assistant’s the National Commission On Certification Of Physician Assistants (2014) state “These new requirements transition life-long learning from episodic learning to more of a continuous professional development approach where PA’s can seek and apply knowledge relevant to their practice. This will lead to improved patient care” (p. 1). Unlike the NBCRNA CPC process the American Academy
I write this letter on behalf of Levi Johnson in support of his desire to pursue the profession of a Physician Assistant. I have spent one on one time with this United States Army Veteran serving war time and peacetime unselfishly. I too am a U.S. Navy Veteran starting my career in the year of 1986 as a Hospital Corpsman for twelve years. In 1995 I achieved my degree as a Physician Assistant followed by a Direct Commission to the rank of Officer serving ten more years.
However, in some cases, the physician assistant can perform autonomously. Being a physician assistant is typically full-time work and at times can be physically and emotionally demanding. A prospective PA must be able to work long hours on their feet, have good
Many different online schools for nursing assistant are available, which offer the required training for the nursing assistant profession. However, you have to attend a training session with the duration that may range from 75 to 150 hours. You would get your certification only after
To investigate the role of a physician assistant, I have completed thorough research along with discussion with physician assistants at the Rhode Island and Miriam Hospital. From researching I have learned that they work under supervision and responsibility of an attending physician. However, they have several independent duties that are extremely important to healthcare. They are experts in general medicine and take an important position in diagnosing, treating, and prescribing medicine to patients. Physician assistants receive education and go through clinical rotations involving several different departments.

Applying to be a resident assistant is one of the best and most rewarding decisions that I made in college. Without my experiences in Residence Life, my college experience would not have been as rich as fulfilling. I was a freshmen women’s RA for my first two years as an RA and I always look back fondly over that time. Although there was definitely a lot of struggles and conflicts that occurred in my freshmen modules, that’s really where my heart is. Over my past three years as an RA, I have always been interested in hearing about and learning about the experiences of other freshmen women RAs.
I have heard several stories of my parents’ relatives, close friends or associates who lost their lives in accidents to illness. These stories could have had different, happier endings, I often concluded. I know of an eleven-year-old girl diagnosed with Alopecia Areata, laughing uncontrollably after watching her doctor make funny faces. For a moment, not only did this little girl forget that she was losing hair, but her smile expressed joy and the beauty of being alive. At this point I thought that a doctor would not only work on treating the physical condition of the patient but would have a big role in bringing joy in spite of their hopeless condition.
Calvin Neal Exploring a Health Career: Physician Assistant Ever since my cousin Paul, whom I’ve always looked up to, went to college and became a PA, I’ve wanted to follow in his footsteps. The definition of a physician assistant is “someone qualified to assist a physician and carry out routine clinical procedures under the supervision of a physician.” However, physician assistants can be so much more than that. They work in numerous fields such as pediatrics, obstetrics, orthopaedics, and with several health care providers such as nurses, surgeons, and physicians.
Once receiving my certification, I then plan to switch from United States Air Force Reserves (USAF-R) and reenlist back into active duty as an officer. Becoming a physician assistant in the USAF has always been my ultimate goal in pursuing a career in the medical
Throughout the semester, I had the incredible opportunity to intern at Worldwide Clinical Trials, a CRO company, as a Marketing Intern. Worldwide Clinical Trials is a team of clinical research experts who want to make the world a healthier place. I was drawn to this internship immediately as it was related to the health field and I have gained exceptional digital marketing experience such as creating marketing content, digital campaigns, preparing social media posts, and maintaining trade shows, campaigns, and webinars. I have achieved many goals in my internship related to the digital marketing perspective. I worked throughout the company’s website, www.worldwide.com, to upload articles related to their therapeutic areas.
I am glad to view a schedule and expectations for the clinical setting in the program. I am so excited to get started in the clinical setting as a Nurse Practitioner. I currently work at the Dayton VA Medical Center 8 hour shifts, 5 days a week. When clinical time arrives I plan to go part time and work 20 hours a week, and spend 20-30 hours per week for clinicals. If I am unable to go to part time status, I will continue full time and spend 20-30 hours per week for clinicals.
