 When I did the conservation tasks with volume, number and length, I used two measuring glasses and one taller and narrower, two rows of 5 little bears, and two red pens. The first child was a girl of age 9. After we agreed that the water was equal in both glasses (one cup and one cup), I poured one in the taller and asked her the question: which one contains more water? The girl answer the taller one, because the water is higher than the other. For the other two tasks she answered that they were the same amount of bears and the same length of pens, just different look because I moved them.
 The second child was a boy of age 5. He answered the same as the girl for the water in the taller glass because the water was higher than the other glass. …show more content…

But she was right for the bears and the pens. The conservation of the volume for the girl did not support Piaget’s theory that children around 5-6 will develop this principle, but the other two conservation tasks supported his theory. The conservation of volume for this girl supported Vygotsky’s theory that children that are in the ZPD, need scaffolding, or guided participation, sharing social experiences and master independently what they need to work on. Instead the conservation tasks done with the boy of age 5 supported Piaget’s theory that he still needs to develop the conservation principle, not just focus on the …show more content…

So we can eat.
To the boy of age 5
a. Why does the sun shine?
Because the sun is on fire.
b. Why does it rain?
Because the rain gets full of water, and it rains on my face.
c. Why does mommy cook?
Because my Daddy (two Dads) makes the most delicious soup with chicken.
 What I noticed from the three answers, that the only time that they put themselves in the answer was the second questions: Why does it rain? The girl gave few reasons, and then put herself in, saying “and for me to jump in the rain”. The boy said “the rain gets full of water and it rains on my face”. There are still sign of preoperational stage of Piaget’s theory, but at the same time I am pleased to hear that they think that the nature revolves also on them! 3. When I asked both of the children to shut their eyes and if they though that I still could see them, they answered yes.
My finding doesn’t support Piaget theory, both of the children said yes.

4.
