In the United States, abortion is a very controversial topic. It affects all women and can be very difficult to get one. In most states, it’s illegal after a certain trimester and is regulated by each state individually. It is a topic discussed at many political debates and is a main point for each presidential candidate. There are different views on abortion for each political party. The Democratic view is pro-choice. This means it should be the parents decision and allow them to do what they think is best for their situations. The Republican party believe in a pro-life view. They have lightened their views some to where an abortion is allowed in extreme circumstances such as rape or extreme morbid danger to the mother or baby. It’s important as so many women will eventually get an abortion in their lifetime.
Abortion is a necessary choice each women and family needs to have because of the many unintentional pregnancies. Society has begun to lessen it’s shaming of abortions. There was about 1.2 million abortions this past year in the United States alone. These were registered abortions that happened at a hospital or registered clinic. In this case an illegal abortion is when the woman get’s an abortion in a place that is not medically clean or by a person who is not registered to perform the procedure and not being illegal in the state or country in accordance with the law. Out of all hospital admissions, 5.1 million of these people are from women who had received an illegal abortion. There are about 48,000 deaths per year because of these abortions.
