Over 61,000 dogs suffer in U.S laboratories every year. More than 21,000 cats are forced to endure painful experiments in U.S laboratories anually. Animals have been used repeatedly for scientific research throughout history. However, not all animal studies have been successful when humans were involved. Animal testing torments many innocent creatures for unreliable and costly research that is not necessary.
This is one of the many reasons again why I am against animal testing. The animals can be treated poorly and thrown into so many stressful and dangerous situations, and they have no say in any of it. Scientist do however explain why animals make good test subjects, they couldn’t do test on some humans to see what happens when you do something to the brain but because some animals are similar they can get close enough results. Yes, animal subjects help science and without it I know we wouldn’t have some of the advances like we do

Every time you use a shampoo or any kind of chemical, think about the animals getting tested every SINGLE year that suffer from the experiment. Gandhi once said, “The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated”. Research shows that there is no point to animal testing as they make very poor test subjects. They are very different from humans, with size, shape and different body chemistry which means that the products that they are testing could work for the animals, but have bad effects on humans that could even cause death. Although testing on animals has contributed to many life saving cures and treatments, it is still cruel and inhumane because of the suffering that the animals go through, the failure of experiments and it is unethical. The use of animals for scientific experiments that benefit soley humans is cruel and sadistic. An animals life are not for our personal use of experimenting and torturing species in order for us to advance in science. There is little to no laws or regulation to conducting animal testing and the number of testing an it is unfortunately rising in other countries instead of declining. The United States is one of the top 10 countries that conduct experiments on animals (“Cruelty to Animals in Laboratories”). Even though many state that animal testing is the only way t safely trial medical experiments, over the years new alternatives and examination has been done that can bring an end to animal testing all together.
The validity and even humanity in animal testing is something on the margins of morale, it is not something done out of joy, it is not pleasurable for the testers or the tested themselves. So there, we are given a reason to submit the simple question of whether animal testing should be permitted at all. Why not simply cut our losses and move on to greener pastures, after all it is indeed the definition of grotesque to experiment on living beings and people may have been right to protest and raise awareness for such cruel misconducts. There must be something that can be done.

Without testing, scientist wouldn’t have found ways to help people with breast cancer or childhood Leukemia.
