The Effects of World War II

The most violent and largest war, a war that changed and influenced America forever, World War II. This war is one of the most relevant, talked about wars in the twenty century. Millions of people around the world talk about this everyday. Think back to the last time someone brought up this war in your classroom or life, it was probably recently. This period of American History will forever be talked about and looked upon to all Americans. With Franklin D. Many of Roosevelt's contributions to the War were unexpected because you never know what's going to happen. Some of his contributions included leading the United States to victory against the Nazis, his rebounding our our nation after the attack of Pearl Harbor and his decision to declare war on Japan. The contributions go on and on and America should be continuously blessed that we had such a great president during the war.

When Germany had taken over almost everyone but Great Britain, Roosevelt wanted America to lean towards supporting Great Britain. As a president does that set you up an enemy? It may have, but for Roosevelt it had three benefits. John Steinbeck was born on February 27th, 1902; to the parents of John Ernst Steinbeck Sr. and Olive Hamilton. He grew up in the average family, living in a small town & a loving family. While in high school Steinbeck was greatly interested in writing and that's when he decided he had a desire for writing. He then enrolled into Stanford University for six years, not seeking a degree just studying material that interested him. After college Steinbeck started taking his writing more seriously. Writing many well known novels including a popular one known as “Of Mice and Men.”

During World War Two Steinbeck spent a lot of his time serving as a War Correspondent. Having first hand knowledge of the War helped Steinbeck connect to families in a way other people couldn't. When Steinbeck decided to be a War Correspondent he agreed to write about a bomber crew. Steineck having a literary interest, background and talent helped him use his first hand resources to write in a way no others
