Wrestling Move! Head up! Work! These are a few of the numerous phrases that a wrestler hears ringing in their ears at almost any given moment on the mat or at practice. This is not the firework show and cage matches that are seen on television. Wrestling is not a game by any means. This is the real deal, no acting sport. Having personal experience with the sport myself, I know what it takes. Being a wrestler is a great sport to take part in because the sport teaches self-confidence, discipline, and anyone can do it. First, if you meet a wrestler, it should be easily noticed that they have confidence in themselves. It is hard for someone not to wonder why this is. It is actually quite simple. Hard work can not be faked, and if a wrestler is winning matches, that means hard work has become the concept of the mind. For someone that has not been a dedicated athlete, the previous statement will make little sense. When something is said to be a concept of the mind, it means that the thought process has changed. Wrestlers have to have a well balanced work ethic. They must stay in shape, maintain weight, and keep a healthy diet to name a few examples. When it comes down to it, a wrestler has to choose between working out to stay on weight or going out with friends. The wrestler that is truly dedicated will choose to stay on weight and not deviate from the workout. It takes a great amount of both mental and physical discipline to be a wrestler. Wrestlers have to mentally push themselves to do better. When a wrestler is losing a match, the wrestler has to still believe that their victory can happen. Also, for the unfortunate times when the match is a loss, a wrestler has to convince his or herself to get up and go to the center of the mat. Depending on how long the match was, getting up may feel
