Throughout the article written by Leigh Cowart she describes how Performance enhancing drugs are not only bad for the sports themselves, but also very harmful to the players that use them. The author uses many arguments including how athletes already push their body to the limits, so intaking an outside substance will tear the body down rather than build it up. Cowart also denies the thought that Steroids make sports an even playing field by stating that they will only help the strong and make the weak weaker. In the article Leigh Cowart uses strong tone to help her get the point across that drugs do not benefit the athletes in any way.
Good morning, or whenever you’re are reading this. I had recently read a book for a class it was called 101 Tips for Youth Sports Officials by Bob Still and from the Referee Magazine and the National Association of Sports Officials. The book was about like the title said it was about tips what you should do before, during, and after the games or how to deal with a certain event or situation. At times they would share stories with you how a ref handle a situation and then they talked about personal stories of how they messed up or they did something good. They talked about things in the past that were helpful to them and used to better their refereeing.

This article is written by Dr. David R. Mottram, B.Pharm., Ph.D., F.R.Pharm. S. who is an Emeritus Professor of Pharmacy Practice at Liverpool John Moores University in Liverpool, UK. This article tackles multiple subjects on the topic of performance enhancing drugs. Firstly, it tackles the many reasons why athletes would use performance enhancing drugs. While some believe that athletes should have their own choice at making a decision to go pro straight out of high school, they should not do so because they will not be able to manage their million dollar contracts respectively. Speaking of contracts, the NBA should eliminate guaranteed contracts for rookies drafted in the first round of the NBA draft. They should do this because a careless high school kid, could just go into the draft not knowing, or caring on how much they are going to make, with the lack of experience on handling millions of dollars. This is very unrepsonsibible for a teenager, and not only for the high school athlete, but also for the basketball association as well. This is because of there noncommitment to have these players
In today’s society individuals see taking steroids as a choice made by the individual as a way to enhance their performance. However, in “We, the Public, Place the best Athletes on a Pedestals”, William Moller, the author, argues that the pressure from others can lead to the abuse of steroids. Athletes are often consumed with the pressure to perform well, so the they begin to take steroids. Students are often up late because of the amount of things that they have to juggle in one day. By overworking the youth and pushing them to be number one at everything can lead to the usage of Ritalin.
Many people believe that students that are involved in a high school sport affect their grade and test scores. At most high schools in America, sports are very popular and an important role in a student’s school years. High school sports have a positive impact on students and schools everywhere. Students have a better chance in succeeding in school while playing in a high school sport. First, high school sports are positive because it has great impact on both the student’s education and sports participation.
On the other hand, many people may think that student athletes shouldn’t be required to have a higher G.P.A than 2.0 because it hurts the players, the team, and the school as a whole. According to the article Pro/Con: Should students be required to meet academic standards to play on Blair sports teams? , it states that, “Because of the hectic schedule that athletics demand, it can be difficult for some students to meet the academic standard. Many teams practice two hours each day, five days a week.” Many athletic teams practice two hours a day five times a week and this will limit the time one can spend on academics.(Sebastian-Tayac)
Athletes are perhaps some of the highest-profiled, and influential celebrities that exist. Worldwide, athletes provide inspiration, entertainment and motivation for people through their seemingly impossible feats, and encompass a vast array of abilities, ranging from stamina, strength and skill. However, in this new era of technological advancement in the fields of science and the body, a new culture of drugs and substances has emerged. Whilst many of these supplements and substances are legal, this can also include the emergence of several illegal chemicals, and are often used by athletes. But why would athletes, who are often highly competitive and condone the use of supplements, choose the take nutritional substances?

Out of high school, many students receive scholarships to follow their passion of playing sports; these college athletes take on the responsibility of being a leader to their universities and their team. Student athletes should view playing sports as an addition to completing their studies, not a replacement. Many believe student athletes should solely focus on bettering their “game” in order to make it to the professional sports league. While this is important, student athletes should also be expected to go above and beyond with their actions in and out of the classroom. College athletes should be held accountable for their education as well as their behavior, by both them-selves and their coaches.
Picture this every athlete in sports using drugs no one depends on skill anymore everyone depends on performance enhancing drugs like adrenaline and steroids. Many athletes today use drugs to enhance their skills in all sports. This is a problem because some athletes use their own skills and are getting beaten by athletes who use drugs. Performance enhancement drugs create an unfair advantage over those athletes who choose to rely on their own skill. Banning drugs in sports can make a difference in the athlete 's health Drugs like steroids could decrease the user 's lifespan Performance enhancers, like steroids and other forms of doping have a negative effect on long term health ¨Gary Becker, PhD Professor in the Departments
