In two tragically similar instances, separated by only mere days, the Japanese people suffered an unbearable amount of loss. In the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, these civilians were doomed to become the only humans in world history to have suffered at the hands of nuclear warfare. On the dates of May 6th and May 9th, the United States Government decided to detonate “Little Boy” and “Fat Man” on Hiroshima and Nagasaki respectfully, doing what they thought would bring a conclusive end to the war.
