As a student today, I'm not 100% fit for Georgia Tech for various reasons. However, this doesn't necessarily drive me away from wanting to attend there. As I see myself fitting there in a few ways and see lots of opportunity for my future in attending there. Academically, I'm currently not cutting it for Georgia Tech. As Georgia Tech's average GPA is a 3.98, meaning I need nearly straight A's in all classes that're honored and/or IB, as this is what they're looking for in their soon to be attending students ("Georgia Tech Requirements for Admission"). However, to neutralize a lack of meeting the GPA standards, I'll need to score an average or above on the SAT, the average being a score of 1450, and 1530 ("Georgia Tech Requirements for Admission") being above the average. Not to mention having to score a 33 or more on the ACT, which is only a few points away from being considered academically weak ("Georgia Tech Requirements for Admission"), and therefore, making me almost unacceptable among their standards. …show more content…
One of these being a con is obviously the location. As like many other people, I'm guilty of wanting to almost be too close to both home and family.
