They have a mixed insurance system where they can choose between a private or public insurance, both of which have different insurance plans people can choose from. In addition, the government provides Medicare, programs designed for people age 65 or older and with certain disabilities, as well as Medicaid which is a health coverage program designed for Americans with low income.
