Immigration Immigration has made up the United States as a nation since the first being arrived, which was about 400 years ago. Beyond being a powerful demographic force responsible for what the population became but also how the country became what we are today. Immigrants contribute to many of the economic, social, and political processes that are foundational to the US nation. Immigrants and refugees have their ups and downs, just like everyone else. Here are a few pros about immigration. Immigrants and refugees are entrepreneurs, job creators, taxpayers, and consumers. The add trillions of dollars to the U.S. gross domestic product, or GDP (gross domestic product. Usually, immigrants take the low-paying jobs that most Americans do not want to do at such low wages. Also, it increases the diversity and expands the culture of the country. Now on to a few cons about immigration. More immigrants mean more opportunities for terrorist, drug deals/dealers, and other criminals to enter the United States. Some immigrants also come here illegally and that causes many issues. Also, in “The Boiling Frog” Quinn states: “People of our culture take food so much for granted that they often have a hard time seeing that there is a necessary connection between the availability of food and population growth.” Which is so true, bringing in more immigrants requires providing more food, which we may not have just yet. But the main issue is individuals are getting large amounts of food and wasting it when it can go to someone who needs it. So, we need to find a solution to that
