The legal age of driving should be raised. To start off, there are teen that can’t mentally and physically drive. Distracting objects such as cell phones, friends in the same vehicle, radio, and anything they can think of are all deadly when driving a 4,000 pound vehicle. Teens are most likely going to be involved in drugs and alcohol. All in all, the legal driving age should be raised for numerous reasons.
The driving age in Victoria for a provisional driver to obtain their provisional license should be lowered from 18 to 17. Every other state in Australia already has the age to get their P’s at 17 and in the northern territory it is at 16 and 9 months so why should Victorians be the ones that have to wait an extra year when every other state and territory has proved that it is safe and does not mean more accidents, countries such as the United States who have the age 17 have shown that the law is fine and safe and by lowering the age the it is bound to reduce drink driving accidents as teens are now exposed to one earlier than the other allowing them to get over that novelty stage of wanting to do both, thus creating less accidents. Firstly,
Should the Legal Driving age be increased in the United States In the United states the driving age is 17 but many different people have many different opinions on the question “should the driving age should be increased or decreased”. Driving is a big responsibility many people believe that driving is a start of an adult, but in society people thinks it’s a lesson of responsibility and adulthood. My Opinion is that driving should be increased to the age of 19. “The Vital area develops through the teenage years but fully develops when you turn the age 25” (Davis).
I think the driving age should stay at the age of 16 because as you get older you have more experience driving. Every thing goes best when you start young because of all the practice you've had over the years. starting at 16 can can lead some teens to good cares like: NAS car, or driving for movies. I think the age of 16 is a good place to start, because its like they say know more about the job before the interview, so that way you have a better chance of getting the job. Safety still is a problem because 16 year olds are reckless as well so its a bigger chance that more people could be in danger young teens that are behind the wheel going fast and doing what ever else they do when there alone trying to be cool for who ever.
Every 15 minutes a teenager will die due to drunk driving. In the world, on average, 96 teens will die every day. The number of deaths would increase if the drinking age was lowered. The drinking age should not be changed. The age should stay the same.
This leads to an enormous amount of illegal drinking on campus. In the end, I favor lowering the drinking age to 19, which would help solve the problem of illegal drinking on campus while still making it illegal for high school students to drink, thereby limiting the flow of legally (and easily) purchased alcohol into younger adolescents’ social networks,” (Steinberg, 5). Many may argue the amount of D.U.I related accidents this may bring forth ; However, the Health Research Fund states that in many countries around the world where they have a lower legal drinking age,” they have seen a greater reduction of drunken driving accidents than the United States, where the legal age is 21.” (“Pros and Cons of Lowering the Drinking Age”) This also states that many of those accidents are related to “thrill” drinking due to the fact that it is somewhat “thrilling” to break the law.
Because of safety concerns, many states have increased the age at which teens can begin to drive. Teens need to have their own experiences. Driving at sixteen is a great way for teens to indulge in experiences and start a more independent life. The driving age should not be raised because driving gives one freedom, driving allows teens to work, and driving teaches responsibility.
Driving at 16 allows parents to oversee young drivers before they are legally independent adults. Lawmakers may think by raising the minimum driving age that they can minimize accidents, but in actuality, they are depriving teens the chance to learn under adult supervision. If the driving age were raised to 18, kids would be out on their own and learning to drive on their own. At 16, teens are still covered by their parents ' insurance driving closer to home, which offers more support should they get in an accident. Before teens leave home, parents can be sure they have a solid driving history that they can be comfortable with while gaining valuable experience.
Should the Driving Age Be Raised to 18? I take the position that the driving age should not be raised to 18. Many people believe that 16 year olds are too young to drive. However, many 16 to 17 year olds and their families disagree. Teens enjoy their freedom, and not all teens are stereotypically “wild” or “out of hand” on the road.
As I think raising the driving age to 18 is a benefit with less harm.while not raising it will harm lives.therefore,it should be discussed. Futhermore, traffic accidents is affecting the lives of the future generation. I think raising the driving age to 18 plays a part in preventing massive car crashes. As its being found that the underage drivers are more likely to go into car accidents than adults ' 'Those who favor raising the driving age say that statistics show teenagers are more likely to get into accidents than adults ' '.(Palicz).I assume if we raise driving age to 18 such incidents will decrease. I also believe adults are more prepared for driving than underage
The minimum age to receive your license is almost universal across the entire country, and it has been for over 100 years. You get your learners permit at 15 and a 1/2, and you get your license at 16. Although, statistics are recently starting to portray that these may not be the best age options for our nation, for a multitude of reasons. Alike to U.S’ society, driving laws must adapt to fulfill new needs and maintain to provide the best safety for the United States. This is why the driving age must be raised in order to adapt to modern day standards, for in modern day, teen automobile deaths have been raised dramatically, teens are more likely to pose a threat to others on the road, and cars enabling of teens to commit selfless and illegal acts.
Driving today is a major accomplishment, and many people use that license as a badge of honor. In today's society, people as young as sixteen are eligible to apply for a driver's license. But, is that necessarily a horrid thing. There are many people who attempt to rob adolescents of their ability to receive a license. I believe that sixteen year olds should be able to keep their driving privileges because you must learn at a young age, it teaches adolescents responsibility, and it makes it easier for teens to maintain a career.
The teenage driving age should not be raised because of the safety and emotional health it provides. Teenage driving allows young adults to gain independence. Teenagers spend a lot of time at sporting events, sports practices, after school activities and hanging out with friends, which requires parents to bring them
Most teenagers think that being able to control the car while speeding means that they drive well. Increasing the driving age will significantly condense car accidents. While some people say teenagers can develop independence, the driving age should be raised to 21 because the level of obesity is high, teenagers are immature, and car accidents are increasing rapidly. Firstly, teenagers are the ones who are most likely to act in such reckless and
The driving age should stay the same because its preemptive strike to driver fatalities and its protection of basic individual driving experience. For starters, keeping the driver age the same takes a preemptive strike against driver fatalities. The people who want to change driving laws only see this option as a way to reduce car crash rates. They actually do, for 16 year olds. In Source 2 it states “... since the first
