The whole Senate, Hospital and Medicare Organizations, and even a few Republicans are opposing this bill. The whole Senate is opposing the bill. The republicans that are opposing the bill are Rand Paul, John McCain, Susan Collins, Lisa Murkowski, Ted Cruz and Mike Lee. The organizations that are opposing this bill are AARP, AMA, 6 physician groups, American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network, 15 Patient Groups and Children’s Hospital Association. The whole senate is opposing this bill because they believe in Obamacare and that the Republicans are just trying to find a way to get rid of it. There are way too many people with diseases and health problems to just ignore it. Allowing something like this to get through a bill is so dangerous, because so many people could possibly be without coverage. Not everyone in the world has money to afford increased rates, so changing the bill and protecting pre-existing health conditions would make a big difference. There is a reason ACA was created to protect the people, as in the past “Prior to the ACA, insurers could discriminate against consumers based on their current health conditions and medical history” (Gee) so it would be absurd to remove it already. It is important that bias actions like these never happen again and this would be the best recommendation for the bill. Another recommendation is to change Medicaid so that states like New York and California won’t take as big a hit. These are two of the biggest states in our country, and if everyone in those states had to pay more it could creative massive problems for the state. There needs to be a balance between all the states and lowering the changing in funding per person will not only help California and New York, but also states like Oregon and Washington DC that were going to have to pay more. The last recommendation is to have create guidelines and rules for the states to follow. If states were allowed a lot of freedom and power for health guidelines, this would create problems for the health organizations. Putting a limit to the rules or being able to veto what they do if enough votes were collected would be good protection against certain bias officials. These would be the best recommendations for the state as a change in these will really make it easier for the Senate, organizations, remaining republicans, and the rest of the world to agree
