Where Do We Stand? Currently, our nation seems to be widely dived in just about everything, and health care is no different. We have the side that believes that our current state for health care is a disaster and we have the side that believes that with Obamacare we are tracking. In the end of the day we still don’t have a health care industry that fully benefits many individual’s needs and that provides a free market that encompasses all. It’s amazing how the United States spends more money on health care than any other nation and we are talking in the trillions of dollars and still, we have millions of people left without health coverage. To top this off, we also have one of the lowest life expectancies as well as a high infant mortality rate compared to other wealthy nations. To star, we first have been dealing with an absence of cost controls that would take a very long time to fix. Second, as good as it might seem to have universal health care, the negative impact would be an extreme cost to implement that would ultimately fall on the tax payers and without private competition we will see a fall in the quality of health care and of course the countless people that would be laid off from the private sector. So how to we survive without universal health care? Well some of us use health insurance and become insured. This type of insurance helps cover the cost of a person's medical and surgical expenses by paying a premium every year to obtain health coverage. So when a medical emergency or health issue arises that might require a surgery and/or hospitalization, the health insurance company will reimburse the insured in cash or directly paying the hospital or
