Originally a collection of colonies, the United States fought and rebelled against the nation of Great Britain due to their dissatisfaction of various factors, including their lack of representation within Parliament. As of the year of 1775, the United States would continue to rebel and eventually go to war with the Great Britain. While both sides may have had certain advantages, such as the home field advantage or even monetary wealth, the US was able to fend off the British thanks to the major assistance provided by the French (as well as from Spain, the Netherlands, and Prussia) in the American Revolutionary War. The taxes placed on goods were to help the British in their times of war, and were not unreasonable or high in any manner. Even if there was no representation in the British Parliament, there was no such need to start a war to try to resolve such things, rather work with Britain and declare what you want to happen rather than force armed action. Why would you try to push away our protection and source of trade?
After the French and Indian war, Britain was left with a huge debt to pay. The colonies were happy that they had won the war, so they never thought of what had to come after the war that they had caused in the first place. Great Britain thought that by taxing the colonies, it would be the only way to help pay off their debt. The taxes and laws that Britain had imposed on the colonies were the Stamp Act, Sugar Act, The Proclamation Act of 1763, the Quartering Act, Townshend Acts and the Coercive Intolerable Acts. Some of these acts had been for the solely purpose to help pay off the debt that Britain had, after the French and Indian War.

Great men, immigrants and Americans alike, created a golden age of technology and industry, thrusting the country onto the world stage of business, economics, and politics. America was no longer sustained by agriculture and the farmer, but by the never tiring steam engines, machines, and the cheap labor of immigrant workers.
Colonies fought and won a war against Britain to declare their independence. In the eighteenth century, being an American meant having a government that changes and evolves over time. It meant having ideas that change over time for the benefit of the people. While some of their ideas were terrible, they did help shape both Americans and America to what it is today. To be an American means to have the same rights as everyone regardless of who you are, the freedom to practice whatever you want, and obligation to try to make this as great of a country it could be.

Since people of France were under the control of the King they wanted to get rid of French government to eliminate power of the king.
