As a 15 year old, I know that us teenagers are more reckless, so the driving age should not be lowered. First of all, 13 and 14 year olds are not mature enough to handle the responsibility of driving. Would parents really feel good about their kid driving out be themselves? No, the parents would be stressing out all the time, afraid that their child could be in an accident.
The legal age of driving should be raised. To start off, there are teen that can’t mentally and physically drive. Distracting objects such as cell phones, friends in the same vehicle, radio, and anything they can think of are all deadly when driving a 4,000 pound vehicle. Teens are most likely going to be involved in drugs and alcohol. All in all, the legal driving age should be raised for numerous reasons.
Because of safety concerns, many states have increased the age at which teens can begin to drive. Currently a teenager is required to be fifteen years and six months old to acquire a learner’s permit and sixteen years and three months old to acquire his or her license. Some adults believe teenagers are immature and not responsible. However, many teens have matured by the age of sixteen. The age requirement should not be raised from 16 to 18 because many individuals must be able to commute on their own, many individuals have family members who need to be driven places, and many individuals participate in activities that require them to be places at specific times.
Teens these days who can drive shouldnt because with all the teens driving there are more drunk drivers, more crashes, more speeding tickets because they don't know what responsobility is. So the legal age limit for a drivers liscence should be moved up to 18 instead of 16. We need that responsobility and with the legal age limit going up it would stop all the safety concerns that the government is having now. The minumum driving age should be changed because then there will be less accidents. It would be a whole less people in court for hitting people on the road and killing peoples loved ones.
I think the driving age should stay at 16 because that is the age teenagers can get a job, teenage years are when friendships are very important to build, and parents are not always available to do all of the driving. Sixteen is the age that a teenager can get a job. At that age, getting a job is very important for a teenager because it teaches responsibility. However, parents also work and are not always able to drive their
Teens are not mentally prepared to drive, they are too young and immature for that. “Brains and auto safety experts fear that 16 years old, the drivers minimum age to drive in most states, are too immature to handle today's cars and roadway risks” (Davis). Driving at the age of 16 can be dangerous for teenagers. Especially because of how inexperienced and new they are to driving.
“With great power comes great responsibility.” When Winston Churchill said this quote I felt this could be related back to teen driving. The state legislature is considering on raising the minimum driving age from sixteen to eighteen due to safety concerns. The age should stay at sixteen because it teaches responsibility, when the teen is at the age eighteen the teen will be too busy on trying to get to college and beginning your adult life, and it will not do anything but harm the teen. To begin with, keeping the age will help teach the teen responsibility at a young age.
Should the Legal Drinking Age Be 21? The legal drinking age in most of the states in the United States is 21 years old. However, this age has not always been 21. The legal age was previously 18 years old.
In addition, the main reason that many people are against driving at 16 is because 16-17 year olds are the age group with the most accidents. However, what they don't know, is that the reason behind these accidents is inexperience. If the driving age were indeed raised, there would be just as many accidents. This is because 18 year olds would be inexperienced as well. The earlier teens learn to drive, the more time they have to gain
If the age was lowered than we could cut down on our busing expenses of fueling, running, repairing, and even owning the vehicle. Furthermore, life would be less of a hassle, rushing tired and groggy teens out the doors to get to the bus before it leaves the stop. The teens would be able to leave at any time they wanted to drive themselves to school without a specific time limit. Convenience is a huge part the “for argument” of the driving age. There is constantly times when the teens ask to get rides to extra-curricular activities, parties, the mall, and many other activities, that sometimes it would be better for them to drive
Driving today is a major accomplishment, and many people use that license as a badge of honor. In today's society, people as young as sixteen are eligible to apply for a driver's license. But, is that necessarily a horrid thing. There are many people who attempt to rob adolescents of their ability to receive a license. I believe that sixteen year olds should be able to keep their driving privileges because you must learn at a young age, it teaches adolescents responsibility, and it makes it easier for teens to maintain a career.
I think the driving age should stay at the age of 16 because as you get older you have more experience driving. Every thing goes best when you start young because of all the practice you've had over the years. starting at 16 can can lead some teens to good cares like: NAS car, or driving for movies. I think the age of 16 is a good place to start, because its like they say know more about the job before the interview, so that way you have a better chance of getting the job. Safety still is a problem because 16 year olds are reckless as well so its a bigger chance that more people could be in danger young teens that are behind the wheel going fast and doing what ever else they do when there alone trying to be cool for who ever.
Driving at 16 allows parents to oversee young drivers before they are legally independent adults. Lawmakers may think by raising the minimum driving age that they can minimize accidents, but in actuality, they are depriving teens the chance to learn under adult supervision. If the driving age were raised to 18, kids would be out on their own and learning to drive on their own. At 16, teens are still covered by their parents ' insurance driving closer to home, which offers more support should they get in an accident. Before teens leave home, parents can be sure they have a solid driving history that they can be comfortable with while gaining valuable experience.
Because of safety concerns, many states have increased the age at which teens can begin to drive. Teens need to have their own experiences. Driving at sixteen is a great way for teens to indulge in experiences and start a more independent life. The driving age should not be raised because driving gives one freedom, driving allows teens to work, and driving teaches responsibility.
Raising the driving age can be beneficial towards a couple’s bank account. By the time the teen is 18, he/she is headed toward college, more knowledgeable about driving, and hopefully has a job that can help pay the cost of insurance. By raising the legal limit, parents do not have to worry about the financial cost anymore but they can still see their children’s step into adulthood by getting a license at a more mature time in their
