For quite a while now, kids have been bullied or even been bullies themselves before. But now with all of the new technology in this world, there is a new form of bullying, cyber bullying and kids can’t escape it or it’s effects. Individuals should be prosecuted for statements made on social media, and here are the reasons. Individuals should be prosecuted for statements made on social media because it can lead to cyber bullying, victims of cyber bullying could end up harming themselves or someone, and comments people make can put other people down and deprive them of a joyful life everyone deserves. To begin with, individuals should be prosecuted for statements made on social media because it can lead to cyber bullying. Cyber bullying is a type of bullying that takes place over social media and other networking sites, such as texting or calling or video games. Believe it or not, people who get bullied often become fed up with it and actually commit suicide or harm themselves or maybe even someone else. As Eden Foster states in, “The Dangers of Cyberbullying,” that, “Cyberbullying can also lead to kids getting physically injured.” Eden Foster also states later that the Megan Meier Cyber Bullying Prevention Act ensures that if an individual bullies another individual and it leads to the victim of the bullying committing suicide or harming themselves, then the bully is held accountable for the behavior that led to that person getting
