Social Sciences have three main branches that could explain most of the usual and unusual acts that are done by human beings. Anthropology explains how does the culture that we grow up in affects us in our actions. Psychology explains our actions through our feelings and thoughts and our experiences in the past. And Sociology explains what we do through how the groups we are in affects us. Humans are like clay and their culture and the groups that surround them shapes their behavior. Social science research explains how people’s behavior changes because of the groups or culture they are in.
Anthropology in this case explains how culture which is made of groups of people affects the individual’s behavior. Researches that are done could explain why people in the Mungdagumor and Yanomami cultures turn out to be aggressive and violent people. The Mungdagumor as researches shows are violent and they treat their kids with violence. A quote that was in the book The Nurture Assumption shows that the families, which are the groups that the kids see the first thing, treat their kids aggressively, “The mungdagumor – “a group of cannibals and head hunters’ … “speak roughly to your little boy and beat him when he sneezes”” (Harris, 172).
