1. What is the “Organic Act for the Department of Education of Puerto Rico? Act No. 149 of July 15, 1999 as amended.
This was created to make a policy that is based and focused on the area of education in Puerto Rico. It was created to make a system of Public Education that is based on community schools that have administrative, fiscal and academic autonomy. It was made to help these schools and how they are integrated into an educational system. With this they established the rights of the personnel of the school as well as each rule that they need to follow. This also explains what are the functions of the Secretary of Education and the directors of each school. This act is the one that gives the Secretary of Education the authorization to make the rules and govern the Public Education System in Puerto Rico.

The main factors of change and social life in Puerto Rico are the public schools. The statement motives look to take Puerto Rico’s education and improve it.
