I have been interested in psychology for as long as I can remember. I love the idea of being able to understand an individual by studying their behavior and thoughts. From the biological side to the social perspective, psychology feeds my curiosity and keeps me eager to learn more. To know why people act a certain way, or simply why I am the way that I am. Psychology excites me because it allows me to understand not only those around me, but also myself. The University of Pennsylvania offers the intellectual environment necessary for me to pursue my career goal of becoming a psychiatrist. The University of Pennsylvania’s psychology program under the College of Arts & Science will provide me with psychology courses that will increase my interest on the subject, anywhere from the basics to the upper-division courses that will challenge me as a scholar. …show more content…

Hearing others share their ideas will help me become a team member and sharing my ideas will help me build the confidence necessary to succeed. Another specific quality the University of Pennsylvania has is the study opportunities in psychology labs; this is an opportunity that will allow me to put my knowledge into real world situations, helping me become a critical thinker and work independently.
