INTRODUCTION In this assignment, I am going to analyze a qualitative research, by following the systematic critiquing research. With the increasing use of grounded theory in nursing research, attention is now focusing on the quality of studies using this research methodology (Elliot & Lazenbatt). The aim of this is to determine the author (s) writing style, the statement of phenomenon of interest, how he used literature review to support his argument and ethical consideration of the participants in the study. 1. WRITING STYLE According to Coughlan et al.2007, the article should be well written, concise, and grammatically correct and avoid the use of jargon. The author (s) writing style is unique and well organized. The writing style is giving information clearly and few words. The technical lay out is clear and well organized. The author presented his/her article in a simple language that everybody will be able to understand. Good writers are concise and precise, weeding out unnecessary words and choosing the exact word to convey the meaning (Cali & Bowen, 2013). The author used words that are easy to understand 2. TITLE The author (s) report title is clear and accurate. It grabs attention to the readers, because it tell us exactly what to expect on the study. According to Coughlan et al.2007, you have to check if the title is clear, accurate and unambiguous. The report title gives us the purpose of the study.
