Queen Elizabeth I, also known as the Virgin Queen, was one of the most influential and powerful monarchs in English history. Her reign, which lasted from 1558 to 1603, was marked by significant political, cultural, and economic developments that shaped the course of England and its place in the world. She ascended to the throne of England in 1558, following the death of her half-sister, Queen Mary I. Her reign is often referred to as the Elizabethan era, a period known for its flourishing of the arts, exploration, and the defeat of the Spanish Armada. Elizabeth's rule was characterized by her strong leadership, political acumen, and the establishment of the Church of England as a dominant religious institution.

By the 1780’s, the British Industrial Revolution began to truly accelerate after people realized they had access to resources such as coal and iron. The people of England used these resources to create machines, such as the Steam Engine. Not only did these new inventions make England wealthy, but transportation and the quality of clothing also improved, along with several other issues. Yet, although so much change was in occurrence, it was not all positive.
If I could be anyone in history, it would be Elizabeth Schuyler Hamilton. To most people, that name would not ring any bells. Queen Victoria came to power at just eighteen years old, on June 20 1837. She broke tradition by ruling on her own terms, without influence from her mother, who had kept her isolated growing up. Victoria was married in 1840 to Prince Albert and they had nine children. Despite being the mother of many children, Queen Victoria very much disliked motherhood and children in general. She conformed to the patterns of her day, producing many heirs, but probably would have not done so if she lived at a time when this was not such an important role for a woman.

This time marks the climax of England’s economic and military dominance. in the nineteenth-century England was the first modern industrial nation. The wars with France, and internal conflict, made England unstable, and their survival at point troubled. The invention of the steam engine and machine for spinning and weaving sparked the Industrial Revolution, creating growth of textile industry.
With new inventions in transportation, textile, and agriculture Britain changed rapidly during the Industrial Revolution. Before the Industrial Revolution began people would manufacture goods in their own houses, with the employers supplying the materials needed and much of the work had to be done by hand. However, during the Industrial Revolution, many advancements were made in several areas of work, which meant machines now did the majority of the labour. Although many wonderful inventions were made, poor people’s lives became harder and the work became very dangerous. Beginning in 1700 and continuing on till 1850, the Industrial Revolution brought both joys and sorrows to the people of Britain.
Queen Victoria was a good queen, she was married, had nine kids that married royal families, and ruled the longest. Queen Victoria was the first queen of the United Kingdom to live the longest time. Victoria became the queen when she was only 18 years old, she had been queen til she turned age 81, serving for 63 years. Their uncle Leopold, King of Belgium, who urged them to form a relationship, first introduced Victoria and Albert to each other. Victoria fell head over heals in love with Albert as soon as she met him, while Albert on the other hand who socially awkward, foreign and shy around ladies, was fond of her but not to the degree that she was. Later that night Victoria went off to write in her journal “ Albert is really quite charming and so extremely handsome… a beautiful figure, broad in the shoulders and a fine waist, my heart is quite going” (Longford 98). Although Victoria was dignified, mature and highly intelligent whenever it came to Albert she was an entirely different person.
The Victorian Era began when Queen Victoria was coronated on June 20th, 1837 and ended when she passed away on January 22, 1901. It lasted for a total of sixty four years. Over that time period, Britain had jurisdiction over ¼ of the Earth’s surface and ⅕ of the Earth’s surface. The Victorian Era was a period when Queen Victoria was the ruling monarch, Britain had a merciless government, the economy went through a boom, imperialism transformed England into the world’s biggest superpower, the morals of a typical Englishman were debated, and people began solving the problems of pollution. Queen Victoria was born into a royal family and was advised and controlled as a child.
The Victorian Era was named after Queen Victoria, she was the Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland as of June 20,1837. Queen Victoria inherited the throne at 18 after the death of her uncle William IV. Infact, her reign lasted the longest out of all the monarchs in British history . Queen Victoria was associated with Britain's industrial expansion, economic progress , and lastly, the empire.
