England’s history is unique and rich, with many ups and downs. The Victorian era (1837-1901) was very prosperous, as the trade was at its best at the time. The throne was passed to 18-year-old Queen Victoria in 1837 after William IV died of liver disease. The Industrial Revolution flourished during the middle and end of Queen Victoria's reign, which increased the country’s prosperity (e.g. invention of steam engine), inducing a large amount of people to change from agricultural to manufacturing careers. Queen Victoria was known to have the longest reign of all British monarch, which was a period of 64 years. Her reign was also known as the most glorious one as she ruled over 40% of the globe and a quarter of the world’s population. Queen
