In the novel Night, Idek shows evil in every way. Idek beats on Eli’s father countless times once to try to get Eli’s gold crown from his mouth. When he wasn’t beating on one of the prisoners he was taking advantage of a young girl at the camp. We see no sign of family in Idek’s life but plenty of evil outbreaks. Even though Idek is also Jewish just like all the other members of the camps and he too treats the prisoners like the German officers would or even worse.
The book “The Secret of Sarah Revere” is a very interesting book. I like the arguments that Grandmother and Rachel have because it make the book very interesting. I also like the fact that Paul, Sarah’s father, does not have a care in the world. He does not care about the arguments, he does not care about what people are saying about him, and he really does not care if Sarah thinks that Doctor Warren and Rachel are just friends. When he does not care it really means that he just doesn’t know or realize this is happening.
Inherit the Wind: Granting the Right to be Wrong While the practice of limiting a man’s ideas may now be seen as archaic, Inherit the Wind brings to light this very injustice, prevalent in an era not yet shrouded by time. In this final scene of the play, Drummond poignantly summarizes the beauty of free thought. The following passage highlights the central theme of Inherit the Wind: theological and scientific beliefs can co-exist, on the condition that an individual has the right to believe whatever he or she deems fit: DRUMMOND. Say - you forgot - (But Rachel and Cates are out of earshot.
When Sarah decided to put her trust in Eric she was taking a huge step forward to getting away from her dad. She wrote to Eric, “I have never trusted anyone completely, not even you, and I don 't know if I do yet. I 'll find out by whether or not I give you this or just rip it up. Here goes. ”(Crutcher 174) When she wrote that letter she put so much trust in Eric, to not tell anyone about her dad and or that there is nothing wrong with her.

Antoine Nguyen period D LOTF Essay The Lord of the Flies by William Golding the beast an idea that one little boys created as a fear leads the boys to chaos and destruction. These boys who were once peaceful turn into savages who murder and torture their own. Sarah not only understands what her father did was entirely wrong, but she also pursues on with her heart and “is going to tell the whole world on what happened to Jerome” pg. 181. Without empathy present, none of this would have happened, and they would have continued to live the same dull lives. Nothing would change and nothing would
In The Outsiders, Darry Curtis plays a large role in influencing the gang and shaping their actions and attitudes. Darry is the oldest member of the gang and serves as a leader and protector, both to his brothers and to the other members of the gang. He finished high school with great grades and a football scholarship, but Darry decided to stay and help his brothers Ponyboy and Sodapop Curtis. He is also one of the most influential members of the gang. Darry demonstrates this by providing responsibility and maturity, teaching the gang how to be strong and be their own man, and he guides the gang to brotherhood and loyalty
James Patterson, Midnight Club James Patterson’s book Midnight Club reflects on the lives of multiple characters through showing their separate perspectives every chapter.. Throughout this book James Patterson showed the lives of many characters who have struggled as well as personal values as most of the characters are . All of these characters show patterns or collective similar experiences which gives this book, Midnight club a reflection on the meaning. However, though all these characters have had hard personal experiences, the first introduced character John Stefanovitch is shown as having to go through many sacrifices.
In The book Best Nerds Forever by James Patterson and Chris Grabenstein I will be explaining how the authors use multiple plot lines throughout the book, to get readers to predict, set up the problem and stir sympathy and many more. The authors use multiple plot lines much more in the story but there will only be three in this paragraph. Getting readers to predict a quote that matches the multiple plot lines but got readers to predict. Set up the problem which matches with multiple plot lines but also sets up the obstacle the main character has to overcome. Stir sympathy a quote that also matches multiple plot lines but gets readers to have sympathy for a side character or the main character.
The memoir "All but My Life", tells of Gerda’s life story as she suffered under Nazi rule. It brings a perspective of the horrors the victims of the Holocaust went through and teaches an important lesson. The theme of the work tells how sustaining hope is crucial to survival and is shown when Gerda believed her life would never change in the beginning, when she found hope from her family in the middle, and how she survived through hope online when she had nothing left during the death march. Hope is one of the main reasons Gerda survived, and the evidence is shown throughout the story. Gerda already showed her aspirations and beliefs at the beginning of the story.
As stated within the book, when Sarah was home alone, she was reminiscing over her ex-lover who had gone off to war; this was the point when the white man had knocked on her door. In other words, when the young man pulled up, she was already thinking about her past pleasures; the only reason she held back at first was because he was a white man. In the end, curiosity got the best of her and she managed to get a taste of the unknown. Once she was done fighting against the man, the scene was described as
Everyone has expectations to whether themselves or others, but these mere anticipations can deal humongous damage to the people being expected to achieve a specific objective. Similarly, all mothers and fathers have ambitions for their children, yet they do not know how impacting it can be for their children. Hence, the establishment of unrealistic expectations upon one’s child exercises too much pressure on the child which later on might push the child to a breaking point. Additionally, the desire of the parents that their child succeeds in a particular activity will restain the child’s free will and turn the kid into something similar to a soulless robot. Nonetheless, all these issues combined will lead to numerous arguments which as time
My phone chimed next to me, and as I looked down I wasn’t expecting to see the disappointed message from my father. He had just started watching my favorite show “Shameless,” and was disgusted by the content. I felt my eyes burning up and I did not want to start crying in front of my mother. That was the first person, who shunned me because I watched it.
