Inequity is a situation in which there is a reduction in neutrality between groups of people and a decrease in the justice served to them. However, this right has not been given fairly to people at all. The fight against inequity was improved upon and positively impacted by the Workers Rights movement. In the late 1800’s and early 1900’s, the industrial revolution was in full swing in the United States of America, but they needed people to operate the machines. When people were found to work these jobs, they were often minorities who were mistreated.

Past research indicates that there has been racial and income inequality in Los Angeles for decades. More specifically, there has been racial and income disparities in quality of life and access to resources. Blacks and Latinos have a lower quality of life and access to fewer resources than Whites. The income level of Blacks and Latinos is also lower than that of Whites. The purpose of this research was to investigate how race and income impact such factors as quality of life, access to resources, education, and personal beliefs.
Inequality is often associated with racial injustice, but actually goes beyond that and has created new ways for social inequality to exist among various circumstances in our country. It affects millions in terms of their way/ quality of life. In the United States and around the world, civilians struggle to receive adequate health care at the expense of their day jobs, hindering them from this as they cannot afford it. Through this reading and the documentary movie that we have watched, it is not hard to figure out how both external and internal factors that formed his personalities. The external factor definitely took a vital part of this formation, since the environment back into that time was hard for African American musicians to gain their rights, and there were so many inequalities existed in the society. It affected his personality for sure by having those experiences. Since he had seen those inequalities happening everywhere to his friends and him, he wanted to fight for their rights, and therefore, it shaped his personality in this way as well. In my paper, I would like to briefly address the factors that created and perpetuate these disparities, such as socioeconomic status and racism in society.
Another important aspect in closing the racial wealth gap that exist between African households in comparison to white households is income. According to the article, The Roots of the Widening Racial Wealth Gap: Explaining the Black-White Economic Divide: “national, state, and local levels, including raising the minimum wage, enforcing equal pay provisions, and strengthening employer-based retirement plans and other benefits.”(). Increasing minimum wage allow individuals to increase their disposable income which will also encourage individuals to save more. Also, enforcing employer-based retirement plans and benefits can allow individuals to have an income to sustain themselves when they are exiting the work force. Also, bring back and funding
Inequality is the byproduct of structures and systems of any government. Policies and ingrained prejudices, that over many decades lean the scales in favor of some, while hindering opportunity for others. The foundations of World War II rests upon political institutions that were dominated by elite interests that were leaders of inequality. I believe that the prejudice and scrutiny that engulfed the war made its way back to America. Making our leaders question who is fit to be a leader in our powerful military.
African Americans have been oppressed for over 340 years, by the white community. African Americans have fought endlessly for their rights to give them justice, but the Clergy believe it to be “unwise and untimely” (P.3). They feel the need to tell African Americans to wait, not considering how harmful it is to them. MLk responds to the Clergymen, by giving reasons on why they can’t wait to have equality and justice. The African Americans have been mistreated by white people for years, and have witnessed first hand the brutality that continues to plague them, “when you have seen hate-filled policemen curse,kick,brutalize, and even kill your black brothers and sisters” (P.10).

From the very beginning of “American” history, other groups of people who were not of European decent were discriminated against and treated inhumanely and without the smallest regard for their lives. Native American populations were decimated by diseases brought oversea by Europeans and forced from their ancestral lands by settlers to make room for their expanding populations.

A problem I would like to solve is the prevalent racial inequality in the United States today. African Americans and Hispanics are the most underserved racial groups in American society. About 45% of African Americans and 46% of Hispanics live in episodic poverty (defined as poverty lasting less than three years). Over 15% of African Americans are unemployed, and they make up 40% of the prison population in America. This is a shocking statistic, as only 13% of the United States ' population is African American.
Racial Inequality is still a problem according to the news. On the news it talks about cops shooting black people when they are not doing anything wrong and on top of that they don’t even have any weapons on them. Racial inequality is still a problem in America, but there are ways to fight against it. A look at recent police shootings involving black men article and the school segregation article both prove that Racial inequality still exists in America.
