The first thing that stuck out to me about Rae Pica’s article is that she opens the article up by saying:
When writing my Huffington Post piece on children and gun play, I found myself wondering what would happen if everyone understood child development. What changes would come about in education? How much healthier would children’s lives be if this unique period of their lives was fully understood?
I have a major problem with this, because there is nothing healthy about this type of child’s play. To add, she uses the wake of the Sandy Hook shooting and other incidents as a way of curbing school violence.
