In The Lord of the Flies, Ralph was a better leader because he portrays respect, passion, and emotion. Throughout the book, Ralph illustrated respect for the whole group. Ralph respected Jack 's feelings towards not being voted chief, so Ralph put him in charge of hunting. Allowing Jack to be in charge of something on the island.
