When thinking about a serial killer, what is the first thing that comes to mind? Possibly wonder what their childhood was like or if they suffered from severe trauma. For Randolph Steven Kraft it was an abnormality that caused him to act irrationally upon his emotional, sexual, and impulsive desires. Although his origins were anything but perfect, a regular person analyzing his past would see nothing that would cause Kraft to end up the way that he did. The story of Kraft is nothing to overlook and could leave an individual in shock with the drastic turn of events in his life.
The Origins of a Brutal Serial Killer: Randolph Kraft Randy Kraft, legally named Randolph Steven Kraft, was born on March 19, 1945, in Longbeach, California to his father, Harold, and his mother, Opal Kraft. Kraft was stopped on the side of the Freeway in Mission Viejo, California. Neither the patrol officer nor Kraft would have guessed that this was just the beginning of uncovering the truth behind him (Forensic). It was Kraft’s reckless driving that led him to be tangled in this situation in the first place. Kraft ended the night in handcuffs, not because of the unconscious hitchhiker in the passenger seat, but because of the results of his failed intoxication test (Transcript). Nevertheless, Kraft kept up the act once he arrived at the police station (BE 7). With a stone-cold face and little emotion, he acted like the lifeless man in the passenger seat was his good friend by asking if he was okay.
